Seth VanderLaan Bio
Seth VanderLaan is the Founder and President of Heart of House Hospitality. From 2015-2020 Seth oversaw all culinary operations at Miller Park, home of Major League Baseball’s Milwaukee Brewers. In his Executive Chef role, Seth was the driving force behind new innovative and crowd-pleasing menu concepts while maintaining a focus on local sourcing and other green business initiatives.
An industry leader with extensive culinary experience, Seth was a national semifinalist for the title of 2015 ACF United States Chef of the Year and was the recipient of the 2014 Chef Professionalism Award. Seth has numerous awards for sustainability efforts as well, including being named the 2019 Green Sports Alliance Environmental Innovator of the Year. In 2018, VenuesNow presented Miller Park with the Excellence in Concessions Award for Best Sustainability Initiative after installing an on-property bio-digestor, a first in Major League Baseball. Chef Seth was the Keynote speaker at the 2018 Sustainability Summit and has been a featured speaker at culinary schools, trade shows, and schools all over the world. His work and recipes have been featured in many publications, including USA Today and ESPN The Magazine.
